Lagers are a style of beer that are brewed and fermented at cooler temperatures compared to ales, resulting in a smooth, crisp taste. They are the most popular type of beer in the world with a wide range of flavors to choose from.  Here are some of the most common types of lagers:

Pilsner

Dunkel – Dunkel lagers are usually dark brown and have a rich, malty flavor with maybe just a hint of chocolate or coffee.  They are commonly brewed in Germany and served in those iconic large mugs.  Dunkel lager are a great choice for people like enjoy a beer with a bit more complexity. 

Marzen

Marzen – a German-styled lager as well that is usually brewed in the fall and traditionally served at Oktoberfest celebrations.  They have a deep amber color and rich, malty flavor with a touch of hop bitterness. 

Bock

Bock – Bocks are strong and full-bodied lagers that started in Germany.  These were traditionally brewed in the winter and have a rich, malty flavor as well but come with a slightly sweet finish.  Bocks can be light or dark in color and come with a higher ABV content than the other types of lagers.
